I thought it was about time the Josh gets some attention on this blog and I let you know a little about what's going on with him.
He is currently 13 1/2 months and getting busier everyday. More and more we see him with so much energy and so excited to explore. Ever since getting to Utah, he has shown such a change in his attitude and personality. He has become such a fun and happy kid who is such a goofball and loves to be center of attention.
He has a "cheese-ball" smile as we like to call it and that's all he does. He used to do that every now and then and mix in a normal smile too, but now it's mostly cheesy smiles with looks of approval from his parents every couple seconds.
He LOVES walking and is very proud of the progress he is making. Since being in Utah, one of his favorite games is to walk back and forth between us or between one of us and the couch. He walks to one end, turns around and walks to the other. So fun to watch and see how excited he is for himself to be walking and exploring even more.
His first words, as taught by his uncle Enoch, are "Uh-Oh". When he first started saying it, there was no context, but now we've taught him that if he drops something then he says uh-oh. It is super adorable. I will pull out the flip camera one of these days to catch it. It's too cute! This evening he was in the high chair and let out a big toot and right after said Uh-Oh. It was hilarious to say the least.
He still continues to have a huge interest in cars/anything with wheels.
He loves playing Peek-a-boo all day.
Today he kept hitting himself with a plastic bottle and laughing with a huge belly laugh. He will always continue laughing if we are laughing too.
He's a good boy, who is a ball of energy and loves his family very much. He is so fun to be around and is growing up way too fast! I hope to savor these moments because they only happen once.

the first 6 days
Wow... We have had so much going on since we left Yakima. This summer break has started out well and I can't believe that it's almost been a week. I apologize for the novel, it is just for my own journaling efforts. :)
Jake and I left Yakima on Thursday morning and headed out for Boise where we would stay the night. We set off early to get some visits in before it got too late. Our first visit was with Jake's grandparents Grandma Marge and Grandpa Matt. They live in Caldwell, ID and are always thrilled to have a visit. Joshie always of course brings some great entertainment to the table. Within the first couple minutes he found the house phone and pressed the big, red emergency button that automatically calls 911. Grandpa Matt called him a "little rat" and wasn't exactly happy about the phone call, but Jake and I died laughing. Within 10 minutes there was a police officer at the door. :) Too funny!
Josh also enjoyed spending some time playing the organ with Grandma Marge. She is definitely a trooper. At 94 she was picking Josh up and playing with him. It's always a lot of fun to see family.
Our next visit in Boise was to see my college roommate's Natalie Hessing and Natalie Moon. They are cousins, conveniently located right next door to each other and both about 36-37 weeks pregnant. :) I was thrilled to be able to see them and catch up a little bit. They are great friends!
We stayed the night in Boise and headed off to Salt Lake in the morning. After a visit with Jake's Grandma June in Tremonton we arrived in South Jordan in the afternoon. It was very exciting to see my family again. I always enjoy being close to them.
Friday evening we went over to see my sister's twins she had just two weeks ago, Adisyn and Liam. They are absolutely adorable and it's amazing how easily and quickly you forget about how small they are and how much they sleep. It was so good to see them and especially good to see that they were healthy.
The next morning we were busy at a softball game for my home stake and then in the afternoon went to have dinner with my grandparents (Lorin's parents) the Hunt's in Orem. They are in their mid-90's and so amazing! They are always great to visit with and take such interest in all of their families lives. Love them!
Sunday was Father's Day and after church, the whole family came over for lunch to celebrate Father's Day. It was so fun to catch up and see everyone. I miss them very much and I always enjoy the opportunity to visit and see them. This lunch included great company and excellent burgers (the famous Hunt burgers). I was stuffed to say the least.
That evening we went over to my Dad's house to have dinner with them and the family. Joshie was the best to watch because he was definitely excited to see their dogs. He was basically screaming the whole night! I have never seen him have so much energy or hear him scream so much ever. It was a lot of fun and definitely always good to catch up with family members.
Monday, after breakfast at IHOP with the fam, Jake, Josh, Me, and Enoch went for hike up Ensign Peak. When we lived here last year we went for a drive up there, but could not hike it because I was about 36 weeks pregnant. It was a nice hike, pretty steep, but it had a beautiful view.
Tuesday, Jake and I headed up to hike to see Timpanogos Cave, something I had always wondered why I never saw it as a kid. It was yet another steep hike, but we made it up in good timing. Josh did well on the hike, but kind of lost it in the caves, but I think that's because he gets tired of being held. The cave was really neat and the hike up was perfect. The weather was mild and beautiful and it really turned out to be a beautiful day.
That evening we met up with my Dad and his family to celebrate Kathie's Birthday. We went mini-golfing at Mulligans and then out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. It was a great evening and we definitely enjoyed our time together!
Today was a much needed relaxing day. We started out by visiting my Grandpa Lundberg. Grandma passed away this October and so he gets pretty lonely. It was good to see him and visit with him. In all of these visits I'm glad that family is able to see Joshua and watch him grow. After that visit, we took some flowers up to Grandma.
This afternoon, Jake and I drove up to Kennecott Copper Mine just west of my parent's house. Last time I had been there was many years ago and so it was good to see it again. It has grown and changed so much since I was last there and it was good to be able to read about it and know what's going on. Here are a few pictures...

recently...
this past thursday morning we headed out to Portland to pick up Jake's brother, John, from the airport. He was flying in to visit us for the week and Portland was the best price and we made a weekend out of it. After picking him up we headed up to Cannon Beach to take a look at Haystack Rock. While at the beach, Josh fell asleep in the carrier and so we decided to walk around town and take a look at some shops. We stopped in to Bruce's Candy Shop to find some really great saltwater taffy and a few other things.
We stayed the night in Seaside, OR and the next morning headed back to Yakima. On the way, we did another hike (around 8 miles) on Eagle Creek. Even though we had been there before, it was definitely enjoyable and I'm glad we were able to explore even more of Eagle Creek. It's a beautiful area.

what jake has been up to
So this is our family blog and because most posts are about me or Josh, sometimes you may be wondering what Jake has been up to lately. Since being out of Med School this is what he's been up to...
He has climbed Mt. Hood twice, also attempted it once but due to weather had to turn back and he also attempted Mt. St. Helens but because of weather again had to turn back. He's been fairly busy getting outdoors, but I know he wishes he could do more.
We also got Jake's grades back from this last semester at school and turns out he honored 5 classes! That's pretty awesome considering honoring means in the top 10-11 people in the class. Congratulations Jake! That is a great accomplishment!

steady sewing/craft corner: kid's height board and itty-bitty dress
Since Jake being home from school, I've found myself a little more able to get some projects done.
My sister Lindsay had her babies (yes, 2 of them) on Wednesday and oooh they are adorable. I've only seen them in pictures, but I'm sure they are even cuter in person. I've been wanting to make something for them. Well in that process I've found out that boy clothes are just difficult to make. So I did go buy something very cute for the little Liam. Now for Adisyn, I decided to make a little dress which free pattern I found here. I also made a matching headband with flower. I thought it turned out pretty darn adorable!
The other project I saw my friend post on her blog and I had been thinking about doing it long before that, but never got around to it. I looked around a couple of places to see ideas of what other people had done with theirs, and then thought up this one and made it a reality today. This is going to be lots of fun to have around as Joshua gets older. I'm planning on putting a piece of paper (shaped into the things that he likes at the time, so for now I was going to put a truck because he loves playing with his truck) and on that right the date and how old. On the back of it I will be putting his hand prints. I hope to continue to make these for all my kids. They are so easy and a lot of fun. If you want to know how I went about painting or doing the details on the letters, let me know.

boulder cave
On our first day of our summer break, we took a little trip up to Boulder Cave with our friends/neighbors the Heal's. It was a nice little hike and it felt great to get out especially with friends. Josh definitely enjoyed it. Here are a few pics along the way.
